In a recent press release by the Golden State Warriors last Wednesday, the team said Kevin Durant has progressed well in the healing process and will be reevaluated in the next 7-10 days. They also mentioned that they were eyeing a return for Durant in the last three home regular season games. Well that reevaluation came sooner than expected. Yesterday afternoon, the team announced Durant will be making his return on Saturday night against the New Orleans Pelicans. This is right on par with what the team as said by saying they were eyeing a return for the superstar for the last three regular season games.
This has to be great news not just for the team, but for the fans as well. They have long awaited their superstar’s return and the wait looks to be coming to an end. Kevin Durant will obviously be on a strict minutes limit as any player should be when coming back from a knee injury. There is still a question whether he will be in the starting lineup or come off the bench to get back into rhythm with being able to get more shots with the second unit. Also, the team has just figured out how to win without Durant in the lineup, so it will be interesting to see how he fits back in with all the starters and making sure everyone gets their shots. I am sure Steve Kerr has already mapped out a plan for Durant to get back his rhythm in game action, so as fans we should all just sit back and relax and get back to enjoying one of the greatest teams to ever play on the basketball court.
